Tails of iron weight system6/12/2023 We premise this from the beginning of this review: Tails of Iron managed to dispel them all. ![]() You will understand well then that, when a small independent studio to its second work (and being the first a small exclusive VR title, The Lost Bear) comes up with a game with dark colors, in 2D and proclaiming it a "soulslike", some doubts there they came. From Salt and Sanctuary to Blasphemous, passing through less impactful titles such as Chronos: Before the Ashes, now Soulslike, as well as first-person psychological horror, have invaded the market. If Miyazaki's oeuvre is unattainable from certain points of view, it is precisely for this reason that it has been able to give birth to a real parallel trend, all devoted to dodging, parrying and a level of difficulty well above the average. ![]() Used and abused from many points of view, the characteristics that define the Soulslike have been able to breach the hearts of the developers, who have implemented them in more or less valid titles. If you think about it, in the last few years you will have played, at least once, an action-rpg with mechanics of the subgenre. The feeling of winning and to improve is what make a lot of players to keep playing those kind of games, not a die and retry simulation. In this review of ours we will go to examine Tails of Iron, the second and rather peculiar work of the very small Odd Bug Studios which sees Mice and Frogs colliding, an endless warĪh, the Soulslike. I just hope that you never make something like this in the futur. If someone from Oddbug come by this topic, you have a really nice game in your hand with a lot of quality. Use L1 R2 combo, (Light/Heavy) and don't overextend.Īnd finally good luck, take your time, everyone has a hard time, even me who took all souls game and more at 100%, just do it at your own rythme. Off course, upgrade your health at max stat, speaking of health, you will not always have the time to fully heal, it's okay, just play patient.īait, react and punish, never extend, I don't like to play like that but this is what work the most for me. Try to have less than the half of the bar of weight. Playing heavy is not that worth, you still die very fast, dodging is way too important. If you want some tips for the Bloody Whiskers mode:īe patient and calm cause you're gonna die, a lot and by a lot of cheap stuff I really hope that in the future they never make a hard mode like this, it's a shame. I found that the game original difficulty is really good.Īnd it's really nice that they added a history game mode for those who don't want to invest to much time and skill. You die so quickly, it's really become a die and retry and to be honest, this game didn't need that, specially for 100% The Health is okay but why speed up everything? And even that, this mode is in my opinion really cheap, everything is too much. ![]() I hope there is a New Game + in the near futur. There is no New Game + and for a game who take a lot from Dark Souls, It's kind of weird.Ī lot of players won't take the time to do everything again and I understand that. My main issue is the Bloody Whiskers Difficulty : The mini-bosses in the end game are cool, big props to that (even if some attacks are recycled, it's still good) My goal is not to be rude or insulting for the devs, it's to try to get things better in the futur. Hi, I just finished the 100% + DLC of Tails of Iron and the whole Bloody Whiskers difficulty and I wanted to share some feedback for the devs and the others players.įirst of all, I want to say that I really enjoyed a lot the vanilla Tails of Iron, It's a good game with many good things, the only little complain is the backtracking but I didn't bother me.
